## Introduction

Champ provides secure access to advanced AI models in a private environment. It acts as your always-available subject matter expert—drawing from your documents and trusted sources to deliver accurate, context-aware responses

Champ is currently undergoing preparation for FedRAMP certification, with completion expected in 2026.

## How to use

Using Champ is simple:

1. **Start a Chat**

Type a question or prompt, just like you would in any chat tool.
2. **Add Context**

Upload documents (currently only supports PDF attachments) or point Champ to data sources to give it the right background.
3. **Get Tailored Outputs**

Champ processes your inputs and generates responses—whether that’s text, summaries, or draft content.
4. **Stay in Control**
   * Champ uses data from your enablement tab, data you attach, and, when toggled, information from the web.
   * Your information is not shared or used to train external AI models.
   * All interactions remain secure and private

## No black box AI, Champ keeps you in the know

Champ is designed to be transparent. Every answer it generates includes two key elements—**Chain of Thought** and **References**—so you can see how responses were built and verify the sources behind them.

**Chain of Thought (How Champ Thinks)**

* **Explanation:** Champ shows the chain of thought (COT) reasoning process behind its answers in a format anyone can follow.
* **Visibility:** You’ll see the key steps (knowledge search, delegate, search references, web search), decisions, and logic that shaped the output, not just the final text.
* **Purpose:** This helps you understand *why* an answer looks the way it does and builds confidence in the results

## **References (Where the Answer Came From)**

* **Reference Data:** References may come from your uploaded files or content in the **enablement** **tabs** - projects and people
* **File upload:** You can also reference data outside of the system, by uploading PDF documents.
* **Web search (only available in commercial environments):** When web search is enabled, Champ provides source URLs along with a brief explanation of the information gathered from each webpage.
* **Transparency:** References are clickable so you can review the original source material yourself.
